Nick Speyer

Rector (Senior Minister): Nick Speyer

Nick is the senior Minister at St James.  He came from Sydney in 2003 with his wife, Joy. They have two married adult children, Jo and Richard and two beautiful grandchildren.

Nick was ordained in Sydney in 1979 and ministered in several parishes there. He spent two years doing post graduate study in Sheffield, England.

His interests include bush walking, photography and reading.

Honorary Deacon: Anne Ranse

Anne Ranse

Anne was ordained into the permanent diaconate in the Diocese on Ascension day, 24 May 1998. She is currently Dean of Age Care Chaplains and Archdeacon to the Diaconate. Anne’s day to day ministries outside these areas are as part time chaplain at the Black Mountain School for children with disabilities, on the ministry team at the Canberra Aboriginal Church and joint licence as a deacon with St James Anglican church at Holt where she has a ministry to the elderly and house bound and pastoral care, and with Holy Covenant Church Jamieson as the Holistic Care Nurse.

Prior to ordination and raising a family Anne worked as a Missionary nurse in the outback serving 4 years with Bush Church Aid Society at Coober Pedy in South Australia and 4 years with the Presbyterian Board of Missions in the remote and isolated Pitjantjantjara Aboriginal Community of Ernabella in the Musgrave Ranges of South Australia.

Anne is a hospital trained nurse qualifying in General Nursing at Goulburn Base Hospital and Midwifery at Royal North Shore, Sydney.
